Tammuz Organization for Social Development participated in the consultative meeting of the Arab Network for Civic Education in Amman - Jordan for the period 10-14 December 2017. The meeting was opened with a round of introductions among the participants from Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq, as well as publicizing the objectives of the workshop:
- 1-Understanding the meaning of conflict-sensitive education and understanding why it is important and when applicable and using the international Agency for Education package for conflict-sensitive education (Aini Education Enrichment Package).
2- Understanding why we attach utmost importance to the process of analyzing conflict in conflict circumstances sensitive education and understanding the basic elements and how to implement and use the results.
3- Understand the importance of interaction between the educational program and the conflict context and knowledge of the methods of analysis of this interaction for the leaders of the design of the program.
4- Understand the interaction between the conflict and each of the areas of the minimum standards of the Aini. Knowledge of conflict-related strategies in the Aini areas: access to education and the learning environment, teaching and learning, teachers and other teaching staff, educational policies.
5-Understand the role of monitoring and evaluation in contributing to conflict and identify strategies to avoid it.
During the training, the Aini package criteria were identified in detail based on the basic criteria which are an introduction to conflict education and conflict analysis as well as interaction between educational programs and conflict And identify conflict-sensitive strategies to serve the domain, including access, the learning environment, teaching and learning, teachers and other educational bodies, as well as taking into account the Learning Policy and the Aini's guiding principles on integrating conflict-sensitive education into education policies and programs
Finally, there is monitoring and evaluation of conflict-sensitive education to measure the success and implementation of the project. During the training, many cases and models were presented, interpreted and analyzed based on the Aini guidelines.
In the last session, the educational tools for the design and implementation of a conflict-sensitive education program were presented in fragile and conflict-affected contexts and how programs were prepared and implemented on the ground. During the training, several working groups were formed, as well as the educational situation in the conflict zones and the response of the guest areas in Iraq and Lebanon Jordan and Palestine.
