“Dialogue Seminar to Employ Young People “

At the invitation of the Dhi Qar Chamber of Commerce and Al-Muntafak Company, the Tammuz Organization for Social Development participated in a dialogue seminar on medium-cost projects, which was held on April 29, 2020 at the Dhi Qar Chamber of Commerce Hall, with the participation of professors from Dhi Qar University, the Director of Social Welfare and the Director of the Employment Department in the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs - Dhi Qar, in addition to the stakeholders in industry and agriculture, and a number of civil society organizations. The themes of the symposium were based on the youth employment project in these sectors. The symposium began by welcoming the participants and providing an overview of the project in which 2000 young men and women are employed through two projects that cost more than 20 billion dinars, and they are considered among the medium-cost projects for a period of ten years. Personalities from the city for the success of the project, while Dr. Khaled Al-Fartousi, representative of the FAO in southern Iraq, presented the prospects of the project and the necessity for its success, especially that the contract was concluded with the Iraqi government and the company that launched the project and emphasizing the goal in order to choose young people who have the determination and will to complete multiple small companies to establish them so that every 10 young people An independent project within two industrial and agricultural cities, and each project has an advance payment of 350 million dinars to 750 million dinars, and includes dairy production and industrial production such as secondary ceilings, walls, plastic and other projects. Mr. Muhammad Al-Ghazi, Director of Social Welfare in the Governorate and a representative of the Ministry of Labor, also presented other projects to promote the private sector, which is a beginning to absorb and reduce unemployment and find means for self-sufficiency. This project also includes the governorates of Diwaniyah and Anbar. At the end of the seminar, the door to dialogue was opened, and many discussions took place about the nature of the project and how to choose young people who are capable of managing such projects and making them successful.
