Tammuz organization visits the IHEC Dhi Qar office

On October 28, 2020, a delegation from the Tammuz Organization for Social Development visited the Electoral Commission in the Dhi Qar office in order to cooperate in establishing joint activities as in previous years. During the visit, a meeting was held between the Director General of the Dhi Qar Office of the Commission, Mr. Safaa Ali and Mr. Ali Adnan, the Technical Director of the Commission and Mr. Mohamed Al-Badri, Training Officer, and Mr. Raed Al-Awsi, Head of the Media Division. The gentlemen in the Dhi Qar office praised the organization’s role in the Dhi Qar governorate as a major active partner in the electoral issue since the first round of the elections to the present day. The most important articles and challenges were reviewed, including the voter register and the electoral districts in Iraq in general and the departments of Dhi Qar in particular.
Each department and its geography were reviewed, as well as ways to ensure the success of the process, face challenges, and organize work according to the new divisions of the departments, not to mention the procedures of the biometric card by updating the data, the citizens who are entitled to nomination, the individuals who were issued to them but did not proceed to receive it.
The meeting also dealt with coordinating and organizing joint educational work in institutions, colleges and institutes according to a schedule, and the task of coordination was assigned to Tammuz because of its experience and relations with departments in the province and colleges and also setting appointments.
The meeting also dealt with providing the Commission with all the views proposed by the organization to benefit from them, and they assured us of the depth of fruitful cooperation over the years with the Tammuz Organization for Social Development and the Elections Commission in Baghdad and the governorates, and it was agreed between the two parties to intensify meetings and joint work in the service of the public interest. It was also emphasized to urge the commission to intensify media –awareness raising to steer people to renew their registers.
