Tammuz Visits IHEC Office in Anbar

 

On Monday, 25 January 2021, a delegation from Tammuz Organization for Social Development visited IHEC/ Anbar Office. The meeting took place with Mr. Nasrat Iyad Al-Muhammadi, Director of the Anbar Office of the Election Commission. During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the preparations of the commission in the governorate through the implementation of the first and important phase, which is updating voter data and the registration of the citizens who were born in   2003.

As well as indicating the extent of the Commission's willingness to cooperate with civil society organizations by providing all information and data required to contribute to electoral awareness as well as successful electoral monitoring.

The Director of the Anbar Office also praised the cooperation of the Tammuz with the Commission, as well as the continuous communication with the latest developments since the early stages of the start of the electoral process.

Emphasis was placed on holding educational seminars for voters for the purpose of reviewing centers for the renewal and receipt of long-term biometric cards to ensure effective participation in the elections.

Note that the UNHCR centers in Anbar Governorate are open from 8 am to 3 pm, seven days a week. Moreover, there are mobile teams that update voter data in the displacement camps in Anbar.

At the end of the visit, Mr. Nusrat Iyad Al-Muhammadi extended thanks and praise for this visit, and also thanked the members of Tamouz in general and our colleagues in Anbar province in particular. On their contact and attendance at seminars and conferences held by the Anbar Office.
