Tammuz Visits Biometric Updating Centers in Dhi Qar Governorate

Tammuz Visits Biometric Updating Centers in Dhi Qar Governorate

On 5-Feb-2021, a delegation of monitors from Tammuz Organization in Dhi Qar governorate visited to the biometric updating   centers in the center of Dhi Qar, the city of Nasiriyah, to see the biometric update process after obtaining the official approvals, as some observations were recorded:

1-It is still less than average turnout for citizens to update their biometric data.

2- Weak media awareness to urge citizens to move to update data despite the efforts made by the Election Commission - Dhi Qar office through mobile teams and visiting state departments to update biometric data.

3-The existence of a biometric card setting that the related persons have not attended to receive them.

4-No visits to updating centers by political entities or organizations except Tammuz Organization for Social Development.

5- The updating rate for the 44 centers in Dhi Qar Governorate is still 67 percent.

6-there is excellent cooperation from the biometric update centers with us, as they provided us with daily statistics that recorded the daily results with full transparency in order to support the electoral process.
