Tammuz takes part in the Democratic Current meeting

On Saturday, March 26, 2022, the Tammuz Organization for Social Development took part in the expanded meeting of democratic forces to discuss the formation of the government, the elimination of corruption, and the rise in food prices, in the presence of several civil society organizations, unions, and national political forces at the Iraqi Geologists Syndicate hall in Baghdad.

The aim of the meeting was to enhance the role and effectiveness of the democratic forces in society by raising their voice to implement popular demands in forming a majority political government, not a government that agrees to quotas, limiting the wave of rising food prices, besides getting out of the fragile political, social and economic reality in Iraq.

The meeting included a discussion of many axes, the most prominent of which was the impact of high food prices on the low-income classes, where they demanded the need to develop quick solutions to improve the economic situation. In addition, the issue of government formation and the clear blockage in the political scene and its impact on all sectors in the country and the disruption of projects that have direct contact with the lives of citizens.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a statement was issued by the attendees, in which they demanded several demands, the most important of which is to speed up the formation of the government, move the wheel of the economy and reduce the cost of living.
