Sharing lessons learned from the 2021 election observation process

On Wednesday, June 1, 2022, in Basra, at the invitation of UNOPS, Tammuz Organization for Social Development took part in the second workshop within a series of workshops to discuss lessons learned from monitoring the October 2021 elections.
The workshop had several members of the monitoring networks and civil society organizations. It also contained the presentation of each of the monitoring networks, Shams and Tammuz, a detailed report on their work during the electoral process, where our colleague Vian Sheikh Ali, the head of the Tammuz Organization, reported all stages of the monitoring process, from the stage of updating data and recording voters until the stage of announcing the election results.
Our colleague Vian added the network had given detailed reports during all these stages. Tammuz carried out several workshops and seminars on election law and the electoral process.
After concluding the presentations, they divided the participants into four groups, each group debating a specific topic and the most principal topics that had been raised for discussion

- Coordination and cooperation between the commission and the monitoring networks and performing the commission
Media dealing with monitoring networks
Dealing with government and official agencies and candidates with monitoring networks
The performance of civil society in the elections
At the end of the workshop, each group presented several recommendations and proposals that would improve the electoral process, if taken into account.
