Session on mental health in Dhi Qar

26-11-2022

Session on mental health in Dhi Qar

on Saturday, November 26, 2022, The Female Revolution Team - Dhi Qar Governorate implemented a session on "Mental Health" for a group of activists on the occasion of the 16-day campaign to combat violence against women within the Female Revolution Project.

The session began with a brief explanation of the 16th campaign to combat violence against women by our colleague project coordinator Ms. Esraa Abdul Karim and the seriousness of pressure during the campaign time period on the concerned authorities to legislate laws that preserve the dignity of women and protect them from violence practiced against them.

Following that, the activist Maryam Falah gave a lecture on mental health and its importance in our lives, besides the impact of violence on the psyche of women, which leads to dire results, the largest number of suicides.

Then she addressed treatments, the most important of which was the need to open specialized mental health centers and rehabilitate battered women
