 At the invitation of the IHEC, Dhi Qar Office, Tammuz Organization took part in the dialogue seminar it held with the Haboubi Foundation on 12/19/2020


 At the invitation of the IHEC, Dhi Qar Office, Tammuz Organization took part in the dialogue seminar it held with the Haboubi Foundation on 12/19/2020 under the slogan (Early elections and the aspiration of young persons for a change), which was held at the hall of the Human Rights Commission in Nasiriyah. With the participation of academic, tribal and media personalities.

The symposium included several topics, including:

1- The legal framework of the Commission.

2-The possibility of the commission to conduct early elections or not.

3- Explain the election law and the electoral districts in the governorate.

4- An imitation of how to vote.

Mr. Qasim Ali, Director General of Dhi Qar Office, and Mr. Ahmed Hassan, Technical Director of the Elections Commission - Dhi Qar gave a detailed explanation of the themes and topics listed above within the agenda of the workshop, where the current election law was explained and the Dhi Qar electoral districts were explained according to the basic map for the distribution of districts. A simulation process was carried out on electronic devices, explaining the voting mechanism and how it takes place, and the accompanying processes as well, and sending them to the High Commission of the National Office.

After that, the floor for discussion was opened, and some important questions and inquiries, and interventions, were raised

The intervention of the representative of the Tammuz organization on the defects of some electoral systems and the new law and the need to focus on the basics of achieving social justice to ensure the participation of all if we agree on an electoral law that guarantees the rights of all. And the need to focus on the reality of the commission's readiness for the upcoming elections and to address the fundamental obstacles, including failing to complete the quorum of the Federal Court. And also how to divide the electoral districts despite the lack of a census, and today Iraq desperately needs it.
