Tammuz implements first workshop of the Young Leaders Program: Fourth Class
Tammuz Organization for Social Development, in partnership with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, carried out the first training workshop for the fourth generation of the Young Leaders Program on June 11-12, 2021 in Baghdad, in the presence of 28 young men/women from all governorates of Iraq
Tammuz Organization for Social Development, in partnership with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, carried out the first training workshop for the fourth generation of the Young Leaders Program on June 11-12, 2021 in Baghdad, in the presence of 28 young men/women from all governorates of Iraq.
The workshop, which was entitled "Community Leadership Skills", started its first day a round of introductions between them and the trainer, Dr. Ghaith Hamed, emphasizing the necessity to adhere to health protocols for the safety of all.
During the workshop, the discussion centered on the concept of values and what it means for the participants, and how to translate the values we believe in into behavior that defines our roles and goals in life.
Also, took Dr. Ghaith extensively addressed the qualities of a successful leader and the principles that he must believe in to be more influential within his team, environment, and community.
This included practical exercises, where the trainees were divided into groups and asked to adopt a specific cause to defend, and many issues were raised, the most important of which were: peaceful coexistence, the rights of minorities, freedom of expression, women’s rights and youth empowerment.
The next day, the training was mainly on brainstorming Participatory exercises for trainees and then they were instructed on the mechanics of forming
The team and how to build it, and the types of leaders who manage the team.
At the end of the workshop, our colleague, Vian Sheikh Ali, President of the Tammuz Organization for Social Development, thanked the coach and all participants for the interaction and commitment to attendance, participation and health procedures.
The Young Leaders Program is an annual program organized by the Tammuz Organization for Social Development This workshop is the first for the fourth class, which numbered 30 young people, and three classes of young leaders have already graduated from it, numbering over 100 young people, representing all spectrums of the Iraqi people.
